about

The history of the black plague in Norway condensed in a twenty-five minute occult, medievalesque prog composition, performed live in Sandvika on the 666th anniversary of its first coming on the shores of the kingdom of the midnight sun. Inspired by the research of Prof. Emeritus Ole Jørgen Benedictow. Includes a remix of the live recording by Nicola Vinciguerra

Recorded live at Musikkflekken, Sandvika 21 February 2015 by Lydverket. Mixed by Lars Fredrik Frøislie at LFF studios Lindeberg January 2017. Mastered by Jens Petter Nilsen at Tinfoil Audio January 2017. Art work by Nicola Vinciguerra. Sigil by Krizla.
Licensed from Tusmørke Toner.

The lyrics for Sankt Sebastians Alter include passages from “Media vita in morte sumus” (Latin antiphon, 8th Century) and “Ad mortem festinamus” (Llibre Vermell de Montserrat, 14th Century), brought by DreymimaðR.
The lyrics for Sankt Sebastians Alter were inspired by Svartedauen og senere pestepidemier i Norge (Unipub forlag 2002) by professor emeritus Ole Jørgen Benedictow, whose research justified the celebration of the 666th anniversary of the Black Plague hosted by Tusmørke at the Garden, Oslo in 2014. Benedictow held a lecture on the plague at this event and kindly joined us on our tour Smitteveien Gjennom Norge in 2015. And there was much rejoicing!

Side B is a remix of "Sankt Sebastian Alter" by Nicola Vinciguerra, made from extreme abuse of the original mixing board recording.
